Happy Thanksgiving!

So it's that time of year again where we think about what we have and what we are thankful for. It's no secret to those who know me that the last two years, and especially the last six weeks, have been especially trying and difficult. I've lost people I loved, either by death or by distance. Money's been tighter than I'd even like to admit. And having Milo as a pet will test anyone's sanity. : )

But despite all of the above, despite all of the heartache that I've endured (along with my families), I still have so much to be thankful for. My mom is proving me right as to why I've always called her my hero. I'm going to be an auntie for the first time next spring (which I cannot WAIT for!). Craig and I are doing OK and Milo is finally calming down. I'm relatively healthy. : ) We have our house. And I've fully realized how blessed I am to have so many great friends and family. With everything that's happened lately I've been so lucky to have friends that let me lean on them, call to vent, call to cry, or who are just there to help me smile and laugh. I would like to name you all here, but it'll either take too long or I'll forget someone and then they'll be mad at me. So I'll just say that those of you who know what's going on in my life and who have helped me through it, thank you. Without you guys I'd probably either be a) drunk a lot, or b) weeping hysterically every day. You guys, along with my family and Craig (especially), keep me sane and appreciative of what I do have in my life. And when I compare what I have to what I have lost, I'm still a very lucky person.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and I hope you all are aware of what you're thankful for...even if it doesn't seem like much just remember that it can always be worse. Now go eat some pie!!

GO OHIO STATE!!

I'm not a huge college football fan, but when your city hasn't won any kind of championship in over 40 years then you take what you can get. Plus this was too funny not to post. So go OSU, beat Michigan!

Twas the night before game time,
And all round the shoe,
Not a creature was sleeping,
They were screaming Beat Blue.

The banners were hung by the lamp posts with care
In hopes that St. Troy would find Ginn through the air.
Drunken and crazy and burning their beds,
While visions of kick off danced through their heads.

When all of the sudden there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the keg to see what was the matter.
When there in the sky, in a Coupe Deville sleigh,
Was Woody Hayes decked out in scarlet and gray.

He looked on the crowd that was gathered around,
And said that he heard that a game was in town.
I came here to watch it, and wish you good luck.
Though it's not like you need it, cause Michigan Sucks!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and try to do that perfectly."

So many of us have thought that our lives would be better if only "I was taller, thinner, smarter, prettier, richer, etc." I know, because I've thought all of those things myself. : ) But what is wrong with embracing who we are and improving ourselves, instead of trying to change the very essence of who each of us is? When I read the above quote it just reminded me that we tend to focus on the negative aspects of ourselves instead of focusing on the good qualities that we each have. We should be happy or content (or at the very least, tolerant) of who we each are and spend time not totally re-inventing ourselves into becoming a new person, but improving on what we already were given. On that note, I bid you adieu.

Now that I have finished drinking my Kool-Aid I will end my mini thought for the day. : )

Meet Milo

Hello friends! Some of you may have not had the exquisite pleasure of meeting me, but my name is Milo and I own the house that Roxanne and Craig (aka Mom and Dad) live in. I don't know why it's taking Mom so long to put pics of me on their site, so I took matters into my own paws and did it myself. So here are some pics of me...Mom says I'm hellacious but I say I'm lovable. I also answer to "Doggie!", which is what my neighbors' kid calls me.

As for what mix I am, all I know for sure is that my mom was a beagle since I came from a shelter. The doc on my payroll thinks that my dad could've been a greyhound or whippet. I'll never know since as Mom and Dad like to joke around, my mom was "a lady of the night." Yeah, funny. At least I'm not named after a hooker, ROXANNE.

This is how I looked when moved in with Mom and Dad. Even then they were annoying...

I was Mom's Valentine's gift to Dad in '05. She keeps saying that she's gotten him better gifts.

Yeah, this is how people know me. They don't mess with me once they see my chompers.

But when no one's around this is what I'm really like:
